Pinspired Recipe- Hawaiian BBQ Chicken

Hawaiian BBQ Chicken ingredients

I found this pin on Pinterest for Hawaiian BBQ Chicken and thought, "Hey! I can make that!" So, I hunted in my pantry and freezer for the four simple ingredients to make this meal and see if it is as good as the gals on Six Sisters and Mommy Savers said it is.

All you need is a bottle of BBQ sauce (I used a 17.5 oz bottle of Kraft Hickory Smoke), a 20 oz can of Pineapple Chunks (drained), 2 pounds of chicken and some white or brown rice.

The recipe instructions said to spray the crockpot's pot with plenty of cooking spray for easier clean up and then place the chicken in the bottom. Next, pour the bottle of BBQ sauce over the chicken and then add a drained can of pineapple. All you do after that is put the top on and cook it on high for 2-3 hours or low for 4-6 hours. Lastly, serve over rice.

Here is my completed version- see below the picture for my review of the meal...
Hawaiian BBQ Chicken complete

So, how did I feel about the Hawaiian BBQ Chicken? Overall, it was a pretty decent meal. The next time I make it however,  I think I'll do a few things differently. First, I'll use fresh chicken instead of frozen bagged chicken. The frozen stuff made for a pretty dry bird... Second, I'll put all the ingredients in the pot and then place it in the fridge overnight to marinade. Lastly, I'll cook it on low for the longer amount of time instead of high to ensure the meat is more tender and less dry!
