My Work Day > Than Yours!
What were you doing at 2 p.m. today? Were you in a boring meeting? Watching the clock tick slowly by wishing it was Friday? Well...while you were doing that.... I was trying the best Rum Runner I've ever had in my life at the bar conveniently named Rum Runners for a bar review I'm working on for Tampa Bay's Metromix!
The review won't go live until August, but I'm trying to get a head start on all of my work in case summer plans pop up! For a switch I'm trying to not be the procrastinator I've been in the past!

As far as social media goes, Twitter is a polarizer—either you can’t get enough of hearing about what your friend had for lunch/reading what Ashton Kutcher is up to/telling the world about your promotion or the only definition for the word “tweet” you know is the sound a bird makes—and you’re totally fine with that.
We happen to love Twitter because it lets us get to know you, but we want to take our relationship to the next level. That’s why we’re hosting #WellDoneMix - the first Metromix Tampa Bay and Anthony's Coal Fired Tweetup from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza.
Come out and meet Metromix Managing Producer Jacqui Anderson (@captnjac), Marketing Coordinator Brandon Thompson (@Brandonpromo), Community Blogger Wrangler Summer Lott (@summerlott) and Photographer Ashley Grant (@TheAshleyGrant), as well as your fellow Anthony Coal Fired Pizza tweeters, have your photo taken and, most importantly, have some pizza.
Make sure to follow us at @Metromix_Tampa and @AnthonysCFPizza to get details on the Tweetup. And if you're planning on coming out, let us know in the comments section below or just tweet us.

Gallery Spotlight: Best Pots to Piss In
I must say that shooting for Tampa Bay Metromix got really funny this month while asking businesses if I could take pictures of their bathrooms. Only one place that I went to sent me running scarred because of a bad tip that a frightening potty was supposedly awesome. Not the case!
I ended up getting 9 awesome potties and the funniest was the one featured above at Tia's Tex Mex on Fowler Avenue in Tampa. When you walk in the room a big window with an image of a bunch of drunks peering in on you greets you. Hilarious!
Check out all the awesome potty locations HERE
Gallery Spotlight: Skinny Cocktails
I was shooting Skinny Cocktails all over the Tampa Bay area for Channel 10s Metromix. My favorite one was a Skinny Margarita from Casa Tina but sadly that one was pulled from the gallery. Nonetheless, all of my images and a few added by MMX ended up HERE for your viewing pleasure. What's your favorite skinny cocktail? Do you have a recipe to share? If so, post a comment!

Work Perk: Meeting B.O.B. 6.18.2011
I love meeting celebrities when they are as nice as B.O.B. is!!! While hanging out in the "command center" at the Cuervo Games as I was representing Tampa's About page I got pulled into a back room where it just so happened B.O.B. was taking pics with many of the Cuervo girls. Of course I had to jump in and get a pic with him to and he was soooo nice! I did take a pic of me kissing him on the cheek too, but sadly it got overexposed and you can't even tell what's going on in the picture.
Meeting celebrities is one of the work perks I love about my job as a freelancer and I look forward to many more as awesome as this!
oh...and in case you were wondering...Cuervo Games were a blast! There will be some awesome pics on Monday from my pals at Metromix so be sure to check those out!

I Broke Last Night: Sugar Detox Fail Story
These are the cupcakes by Your Fondant Memories that made me break my sugar detox plans last night. I was really good Wednesday night and rescheduled my SideBern's review for Tampa's About. Then, as I drove to the networking event on Thursday night for Working Women of Tampa Bay I could feel rumbling in my tummy.
I thought I could cure my rumbles by grabbing a healthy choice so I stopped and got a protein bar. In hindsight I should have gotten an actual meal because it would have made me full and probably kept me focused on my sugar detox. Sadly, when I got to the WWOTB event the protein bar was apparently a snack bar and I was still hungry. Lesson #1 never go to an event hungry!
Needless to say all I could see was wine, cupcakes, pretzels, crackers and more stuff that is not on the sugar detox plan! My hands began to shake and I felt ill from not eating and before I knew it I was chowing down on a freaking cupcake! GASP!
Unfortunately this led to more bad behavior. Kicking myself for not sticking to my goal I had a glass of wine, another cupcake and a handful or crackers. GASP GASP GASP!!!
Reflecting on what had taken place on the way home I realized how stupid it was that breaking down led me to doing more dumb stuff. I should have just accepted I made a mistake and tried to let that hold me over until I could get a decent sugar free meal in me.Getting negative about the failure only made it worse. Lesson #2 One mistake doesn't give you a free pass to intentionally make more mistakes.
So, here we are on Friday and I'm trying to get over the fact that I had a slip up. Lesson #3 What's done is done, accept it and move on.
In the past screwing up like this would have led me to calling off any diet and calling off working out because hey I failed...might as well stop right?!? WRONG! Lesson #4 we are human...we all make mistakes
All I can do now is:
A. Restart the Sugar Detox from day 1
B. Accept I may screw up again and that if I do it's not the end of the world
C. Continue working towards a healthy lifestyle no matter what by eating as healthy as possible as often as possible and working out
D. All of the above
So...rather than looking at it as a fail, I'm looking at the fact I ate a cupcake as a hiccup on a very long road towards health! I am learning more with everyday that this truly HAS to be a LIFESTYLE change and not just a gimmick. Even if I don't do a sugar detox at all, I've got to focus on healthy living overall!
You may be wondering why I'm confessing publicly that I cheated on the detox at all...well...the whole point of telling people I was working towards good health was to hold myself accountable. Not telling the truth defeats the purpose. Plus, I am hoping that as I'm on this journey I will inspire others and hoping that if they had a cupcake it won't leave them feeling like they failed...
Until the next post...

Day 3 of Bootcamp and Day 3 Sugar Detox.
Today I'm cranky and sore! This is the first morning I don't want to work out but will anyway because I NEED it! Only day 3 and I want chocolate, bread, wine and a heat pack. My body hurts and I'm not happy!!!!
I thought it would be longer before I would feel this way and sadly when I start feeling this way is when I usually give up. I'll get so excited about starting a diet, I develop a workout plan and I get pumped. Then....when I start really getting some momentum I just feel like crap and want to stop. I guess the reason I'm feeling this way so quickly in the game is because I've been working harder with the bootcamp and sugar detox in 3 days than I traditionally do when I start a get fit kick.
With that said, I'm going to try harder than before to trudge through my feeling like crap and hope that I will start getting all the energy and good feelings everyone has been promising me! I just hope I start seeing results ASAP so that I get a renewed sense of motivation! The big difference pushing me harder mentally this time is my health depends on it more than before.
I'm done typing for now...gotta do some stretches to stop the pain =(

Day Two of My Sugar Detox
I am on day two of the sugar detox and its breakfast time and I'm eating eggs again. I woke up really hungry so I'm adding a few pieces of lunch meat to my eggs! Will continue updating this post later after lunch and/or dinner...
Update------------------------
Okay, missed out on a snack and went straight for lunch...
-had a diet tea-no cals
-had a bunch of romaine lettuce with two tablespoons of salsa
-two beef patties with cheese
I didn't mean to but this put me all the way up to 1,200 calories already. So, before dinner I'm gonna go for a walk with my awesome friend Kaeleen!
Also...I am rescheduling my Sidebern's review until after the 2 week sugar detox. Don't want to be tempted to drink or have bread even though I've been craving both along with soda all damn day. I will not succumb to my cravings though. I promise Christine! (now that I know you are monitoring this page I'll give a little shout out. haha)
update two----
I didn't go for a walk and I didn't eat dinner. I'm convinced these two items were a bad idea because it led to me being in a bad mood the morning of 6/16/2011
