All The Giff Coverage! Where are your pics?

What a weekend it was at the 5th Annual Gasparilla International Film Festival. I met a lot of people, I shot a lot of people (with my camera of course!) and had a lot of fun!!!

So...if I shot you...you probably ended up in one of the stories I did...

Before the weekend even began I am proud to report that GIFF was the top link on the New York Times website Tampa.About.com See the original story HERE
I just started working for About and am so excited that I got to post the event on the site. It went live just in time for GIFF to start.

The opening night celebration held at Tampa Theatre and subsequent after party at Fly Bar got featured on the Yahoo! Contributor Network and you can check it out HERE

The second night of GIFF I was shooting for Channel 10s online affiliate Metromix The images from that night can be seen and downloaded HERE
The party was held at the amazing restaurant 717 South

Unfortunately on the third night of the festival I was unable to check out the films and parties but I more than made up for it by covering the 4th and final night for the closing celebration. I had an absolute blast!!! First I caught the awards ceremony at Tampa Theatre and then enjoyed face painting, a stilt walker, a fire blower, a contortionist, burlesque dancers and so much more which made the last night the most fun of all!

work perk: getting shot with Tom Berenger

Tom Berenger was at 717 South for the 5th Annual Gasparilla International Film Festival (GIFF) after party on March 25, 2011. I was shooting the party for Tampa Bay Metromix and couldn't resist the opportunity to get a quick picture with him. Berenger is best known for roles in Major League, Sniper, The Big Chill, Looking for Mr. Goodbar, Sliver and most recently Inception.

Berenger is GIFF's 2011 Career Achievement Award recipient and his film Platoon was one of the special screenings for the festival.

Tonight was a whirlwind to say the VERY least. One minute I'm photographing Tom Berenger and the next I'm getting an invite to the fashion show at Jackson's with special guest Mario Lopez from Extra! I photographed the red carpet experience and hung out with some of the South Tampa royalty and after the fashion show convinced Mario's manager to sneak me back to his cabana with my pal Camille from Metromix so we could each get a pic with AC Slater! Sitting on Mario's leg literally transported me back to when I was younger and drooling over him and he looks better now than he ever has! What a great night! =)

I originally shot this for Tampa Bay's Metromix. This image was taken at the 13 Ugly Men Halloween party on October 29,2010. The thing that shocked me the most about this night was how people took dressing up so seriously! Some of the costumes were more extravagant and more detailed than my wedding dress. work perk: Photographing Burt Reynolds

I got to shoot Burt Frikkin Reynolds tonight! So frikkin awesome! He was making an appearance at the Tampa Theatre because of the Turner Classic Movies Film Festival. 10 cities were chosen to show 10 movies and Tampa Theatre was chosen to feature Smokey and the Bandit. I volunteered to photograph the scenic and crowd shots which got me a ticket to photograph the Q&A and the publicity shots =) Needless to say it was worth it! Check out this amazing image I got of Burt in front of the replica of the car driven in the movie!
